TEACHING

Professor Powell teaches in a variety of programs at the Saïd Business School, including the MBA, Executive MBA, doctoral, and undergraduate programs. His areas of expertise include Strategic Management, Corporate Strategy, and Strategic Decision Making. At St. Hugh’s College, he provides tutorials in General Management and Strategic Management for students in Oxford University’s undergraduate program in Economics and Management.

Professor Powell began his career in financial management and strategy consultancy before earning his doctorate from New York University’s Stern Graduate School of Management. He has a long track record of experience in executive teaching, external strategy consulting, and executive coaching. At the Saïd Business School, Thomas teaches regularly on the Oxford Advanced Management and Leadership program, and on custom programs for corporate clients. He consults for firms in a variety of industries, including consumer products, financial services, legal services, audit and advisory services, and natural resources.
