Thomas C. Powell is Professor of Strategy at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and Fellow of Management Strategy at St. Hugh’s College, Oxford. He teaches courses in the MBA, EMBA, doctoral, and undergraduate programs, and leads Executive Education seminars on strategic management. His areas of expertise include competitive strategy, behavioral strategy, and the intellectual foundations of strategic management.
Professor Powell received his Ph.D. from New York University’s Stern Graduate School of Management and has held faculty posts in universities in the USA, Canada, Australia, France, and the UK. His research is published in leading journals such as Strategic Management Journal and Academy of Management Review. He consults globally on competitive strategy and is a member of the Strategic Management Society, Academy of Management, and American Economic Association. He serves on the editorial boards of Strategic Management Journal and Strategic Organization.
